Essar Steel Algoma Granted Injunction for Pellet Delivery
Jun. 18, 2010 Essar Steel Algoma has been granted an injunction against Cleveland Cliffs that will force Cliffs to continue delivering pellets to Essar, pending resolution of a pricing dispute between the parties. The pricing dispute is currently under arbitration.
Under terms of the injunction, Cliffs must continue to deliver pellets until September 30th 2010 or until completion of the arbitration unless either party moves to extend it.
In a published statement, Essar Steel Algoma said that it is pleased with the decision and looks forward to the immediate resumption of its pellet supply.
A member of the Essar Group, Essar Steel Algoma Inc. is based in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. As a fully integrated steel producer, the company derives its revenues primarily from the manufacture and sale of hot and cold rolled steel products including sheet and plate.
