FATA/FATA HUNTER HEADLINES

Industry Suppliers / Fata/Fata Hunter Fata Hunter to Supply Coil Coating Line for Wisco

Aug. 1, 2004

Fata Hunter and Fata Hunter Inc. recently announced a contract from International Economic & Trading Corp. Wugang Group, P.R. China, for supply of a continuous coil coating line for the Wuhan Iron & Steel No. 2 Cold Rolling Mill Project.

The 160 meter/minute line will process 0.20 to 1.60 mm thick steel strip ranging in width from 800 to 1,600 mm. With an annual capacity exceeding 200,000 tons per year, it will be the fastest coil coating line in China. It will incorporate Fata Hunter’s latest technological developments, including its patented single slide coating machines with closed loop control system.

For pre-treatment application, the line will have an environmentally-friendly dry-in-place chemical coater and a Clean Air® Oven System with afterburner to dry the paint and destroy the solvent. It will also include Fata Hunter’s in-line hot film laminator and tension leveller with top side dry film thickness measurement system.

The coil coating line, capable of painting hot dip galvanized and electro-galvanized steel, will also have the ability to produce multi-colored strip in a one-step continuous process and will feature a post-paint protective film that Wisco can apply to assure their customers of a superior quality strip.

The continuous coil coating line, Fata Hunter’s 121st since 1960, is scheduled to begin operation in January 2006.

Fata Hunter is a division of Fata Group SpA, based in Torino, Italy. Fata Hunter Inc. is a member of the Fata Group SpA, based in Riverside, Calif.
