North America Reliance Steel & Aluminum Names Corporate Vice President - Operations

Mar. 2, 2010
Reliance Steel & Aluminum Co. announced the promotion of Stephen P. Koch to Vice President–Operations, effective April 1, 2010. He will be succeeded in his current position as President of Chapel Steel by Stanley Altman.

In his new position, Koch, 43, will oversee several of Reliance’s subsidiaries. He will report to President and COO, Gregg J. Mollins.

“Since Reliance acquired Chapel Steel, we have been impressed by Steve’s performance in managing Chapel Steel and its multiple facilities, especially during a turbulent economic period,” said Mollins. “This, among other things, convinced us that he was the right individual to take on more responsibility with respect to our business.”

Koch joined Chapel Steel in 1988 as a sales representative. He continued with the company through its acquisition by Reliance in 2005, later holding positions including Sales Manager and Executive Vice President. Koch was named to his current position, President of Chapel Steel, in June 2007.

Koch graduated from Shippensburg University with a degree in public relations and a minor in business administration.
