Industry Suppliers / Parsytec Parsytec to Supply 4th Surface Inspection System for North American Stainless

Dec. 10, 2007
Parsytec AG is to supply a surface inspection system to North American Stainless for an annealing-pickling line at its site in Ghent, Ky. The line will be delivered via Parsytec’s American sales partner Metal Technology Innovations.

North American Stainless—a part of the Acerinox group of companies—ordered the surface inspection system for their new AP4 line, the company’s most recent investment to maintain its market-leader status for stainless steel products in North America. AP4, a hot band Annealing Pickling line, will start production during the second half of 2008.

“The line will fulfill North American Stainless' entire hot band AP needs,” said Eric Jasper, Quality Control Supervisor at North American Stainless. “The Parsytec inspection system is part of our strategy to assure a high quality product during that transition process and thereafter.”

According to Parsytec, the inspection system’s software will integrate easily within the overall North American Stainless quality process. Parsytec’s 5i will evaluate inspection results and use this evaluation in the company’s material-flow decisions.

This application will be the fourth North American Stainless line to be equipped with Parsytec inspection solutions including parsytec 5i.

Parsytec AG is the world’s largest vendor of surface inspection systems, with 10 of the Top 10 steel producers and 15 of the Top 20 paper producers currently applying Parsytec products, and more than 480 installations worldwide. Parsytec is headquartered in Aachen, Germany, and maintains subsidiaries in North America, Korea, and China.
