Parsytec to Install New Marking Technology for ThyssenKrupp Steel
Jan. 1, 2006 Jan. 2006 — Parsytec announced the first installation of its Defect Marking Application, recently completed at ThyssenKrupp Steel AG.
ThyssenKrupp Steel will utilize the new technology to mark defective parts on highest-quality automotive-exposed strip steel areas in order to enable maximum material exploitation in the automotive manufacturing process.
The application is an extension of Parsytec’s leading-edge espresso surface inspection systems. As they are 100% software-based, they allow flexible ways of dealing with the generated comprehensive surface quality data. In this specific case, the standard surface inspection software was combined with Parsytec’s unique production decision intelligence platform, Parsytec 5i.
During the production process, potential marking defects will be selected electronically. Before and during the material processing, this selection will be reviewed, validated, and relevant marking defects will be released. After unwinding the material, the relevant defects will be marked automatically.
Parsytec AG is the world's largest vendor of surface inspection systems. Today, 10 of the Top 10 steel producers apply Parsytec products. Parsytec is headquartered in Aachen, Germany, and maintains subsidiaries in North America, Japan, Korea and China.
