May 15, 2006 — North American Stainless (NAS) recently placed an order with Parsytec AG to provide a parsytec 5i infrastructure for its plant in Ghent, Ky.

The new infrastructure will help NAS extend its existing Parsytec surface inspection systems, which have been in operation since 1999. NAS currently employs two major parsytec 5i applications that facilitate the re-assignment of blocked coils to alternative orders, and the analysis of processes to uncover the root causes of certain defects and to determine preventive measures.

In making its selection, North American Stainless noted the parsytec 5i’s data integration capability, which facilitates the entire process from mainframe order data to coil measurement data held in process level computers. parsytec 5i also enables the implementation and maintenance of applications targeting material decisions and process optimization.
