  Parsytec AG was recently awarded a contract by Indian steel manufacturer Ispat Industries Ltd. to supply an espresso SI surface inspection system and a parsytec 5i coil release application for its hot strip mill. The project marks Parsytec’s first order in the Indian metals market.

Ispat Industries operates a state-of-the-art hot strip mill for carbon steel in Dolvi, Maharashtra. At Dolvi, Ispat produces more than 3 million tonnes of hot rolled coils are produced each year. Ispat will use Parsytec’s espresso SI for advanced surface inspection and reliable classification results.

Ispat Industries will use the inspection data with the surface quality yield platform parsytec 5i. In addition to the option to build applications in order to support operator actions such as coil grading or coil release decisions, Ispat will also integrate WWW Publishing Extensions. This web add-on grants access to coil or quality reports with a standard internet browser.

Parsytec says that espresso SI’s compact hardware requires minimal maintenance effort and has the lowest total cost of ownership in the inspection market.
