Tenova Core to Supply Heat Treat Furnace for SSAB
May 21, 2010 Tenova Core was recently contracted to design and supply an austenitizing/tempering roller hearth furnace at SSAB’s Axis, Ala., plant.
The new furnace will be installed as part of a new plate quench and temper line project at the Axis plant. It will feature an efficient electrical heating system and high quality rolls.
In order to minimize the time required for furnace installation, Tenova Core will pre-assemble the furnace in modular sections prior to shipping to the plant.
The new quench and temper line is expected to start up in the first half of 2012.
