Sep. 29, 2010
Quad Infotech has started the implementation of its [QMOS] MES system at Gerdau Ameristeel's Sayreville's plant, which will allow Sayreville to coordinate its steelmaking and rolling operations from the scrap yard through to bundling and shipping operations.

Gerdau expects the advanced Spec Management and QC functions in [QMOS] to provide the Sayreville plant with enhanced quality-control capabilities through each step of the operation. The advanced scheduling and material assignment functions in [QMOS] is expected to improve coordination among Sayreville’s production units in the melt shop and the rolling mill, allowing it to provide better production and delivery schedules to customers.

[QMOS] also offers advanced data analysis tools as well as standard and custom production and KPI reports for targeted process analysis and performance evaluation.
