Industry Suppliers / Russula Nucor Seattle Awards Shear Automation Contract to Russula

Nucor Steel Seattle Inc. has awarded a contract to Russula for the supply of new automation for their three shears. The aim of the project is to replace the existing obsolete automation system and to increase cut reliability.
 
In addition to new shear controls, implemented in Siemens Simotion Controllers, Russula also will provide the engineering and automation modifications to convert two of the existing loop scanners to more standard Delta scanners.
 
Russula is responsible for installation supervision, commissioning and training. Start up is scheduled for December, 2009.
 
Russula has previously upgraded all the mill stand and auxiliary AC and DC drives for Nucor Seattle.
 
Russula is an independent engineering company specializing in upgrades and modernization projects for the steel industry with major offices in Spain, Brazil, Argentina, India, and Atlanta, GA.
