Severstal North America Successful on Two Patent Cases Aug. 30, 2011 - The jury award won by Severstal North America in its defense of ArcelorMittal’s patent infringement assertions has been upheld by the trial judge. Severstal says it also continues to achieve favorable decisions in a patent reexamination proceeding regarding a patent owned by ArcelorMittal regarding the production of aluminum-coated, boron-bearing carbon steel.

Blast Furnace Upgrade to Kick off 4-Year Modernization Program at Severstal Jul. 15, 2005 - Severstal North America, Inc. has filed a permit to install application with the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality to expand and enhance the larger of its two blast furnaces. The company will invest more than $180 million to add capabilities that will improve furnace productivity, efficiency and reliability and significantly reduce particulate emissions associated with the ironmaking process in its Dearborn-based steelmaking operations.
