Techint Goodfellow to Provide Process Control for CMC Meltshop
Jun. 16, 2006 June 16, 2006 — Techint Goodfellow Technologies Inc. has received a purchase order from CMC Steel South Carolina (formerly known as SMI SC) to install a Goodfellow EFSOP™ system in its meltshop.
The EFSOP system will incorporate continuous off-gas based closed-loop process control, allowing CMC to measure and analyze EAF off-gases (CO, CO2, H2, O2) continuously at the fourth hole for real-time closed-loop process control of EAF steelmaking.
Techint Goodfellow says the new system will result in improved operations, energy savings, lower conversion costs and safety benefits.
