ITC to Uphold Duties on Stainless Wire Rod from Five Countries
May 17, 2010 The U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) has determined that revoking the existing antidumping duty orders on stainless steel wire rod from Italy, Japan, Korea, Spain, and Taiwan would be likely to lead to continuation or recurrence of material injury within a reasonably foreseeable time.
As a result of the Commission's affirmative determinations, the existing orders on imports of this product from the five companies will remain in place.
Commissioners Charlotte R. Lane, Irving A. Williamson, and Dean A. Pinkert voted in the affirmative with respect to all countries. Chairman Shara L. Aranoff voted in the affirmative with respect to Japan, Taiwan, Korea, and Spain and in the negative regarding Italy. Vice Chairman Daniel R. Pearson and Commissioner Deanna Tanner Okun voted affirmative with respect to Japan and Taiwan and negative regarding Italy, Korea, and Spain.
This action comes under the five-year (sunset) review process required by the Uruguay Round Agreements Act.

Nos. 731-TA-770-773 and 775 (Second Review)), USITC Publication 4154, May 2010) will contain the views of the Commission and information developed during the reviews. Copies may be requested after June 18, 2010.
The sunset review concerning this topic was instituted on July 1, 2009. On October 6, 2009, the Commission voted to conduct full reviews.
