Second Group of Posco Youth Volunteers Sent Off
Feb. 26, 2010 The second group of the “Posco Global Hope-Sharing Young Corps,” which was launched at the Seoul Posco Center on August 27 last year, left for Hanoi, Vietnam, on February 19.
Following the first batch of volunteers from the organization, which did their service in Vietnam for six months, this new group will teach locals the Korean language and computer skills until August.
Family members and friends of the youth corps members, along with Posco officials, saw them off at Incheon International Airport for their six-month mission.
“I hope the six months will make a precious experience in my life, not just a volunteering period,” said Tak Jin-young, one of the group’s volunteers.
The second batch of members will have a month-long educational period for adaptation to the local culture, including the Vietnamese language, before getting dispatched to the field.
