Posco to Offer On-site Visits to the Steelworks during Summer
Jul. 6, 2010 Posco is offering a special field trip program for the summer vacation season from July 26th to August 20th to provide people the opportunity to have a friendly encounter with steel at both the Pohang and Gwangyang Steelworks. Visits can be reserved up to 3 days in advance through the Posco website under the Seasonal Field trip menu.
Pohang Steelworks has prepared various programs with a different theme for each day. Visitors will ride in a vehicle provided by Posco, starting their trip at the Field Trip Information Room and moving on to the PR center to watch a promotional movie and experience various programs.
The program is built around daily themes so that even those who have already visited Pohang Steelworks can encounter new experiences on site. Themes include “From Iron Ores to Molten Metal” (Monday), “Manufacturing of Steel Products” (Tuesday), “Shipment of Steel Products” (Wednesday), “A Clean Environment and Green Steelworks” (Thursday), and “Posco’s History and Culture Visit” (Friday).
Those who participate in the program can submit reviews through the Posco website or via email; souvenirs will be sent to selected submissions.
Gwangyang Steelworks will host a field trip program on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday of each week of the special field trip program. Gwangyang Steelworks will also provide a field trip vehicle that leaves from the Geumdang and Geumho regions.
Gwangyang Steelworks will also prepare a photo zone in front of a hot rolled coil model installed in front of the visitor’s entrance of the Hot-rolling plant 1 & 2 while the field trip program is offered
Posco also is hosting various learning programs such as summer English and IT camps during vacation for students in Pohang and Gwangyang.
