Posco ICT to Manage African Water, Sewage Systems
Aug. 18, 2010 Posco ICT has begun a project to establish a monitoring system for water supply and drainage networks in major cities of Equatorial Guinea, West Africa.
The company will supply surveillance and control equipment for newly built networks in such cities as Mongomo, Ebebiyin, and Evinayong. Infrastructure including power lines will be used to control sewage inflow. A broad closed-circuit television network will be set up to help maintain equipment preservation and prevent water leakage.
Posco ICT expects the project to contribute to improved quality control in the supplied water and drainage on a real-time basis, as well as help in preparation for possible natural disasters such as floods by controlling sewage inflow.
